Her extensive experience includes performances with Oceanallover, Walk the Plank, Dead Belgian, Fuel, Everyman Theatre, Liverpool Lantern Company and BBC Radio Drama. She began her education in physical theatre and clown in 2001, training with Clive Mendus, Paul Hunter, Mick Barnfather and Mikel Murfi, among others. In 2013, Fionnuala was awarded a place on Embodied Theatre in Glasgow, where she studied visual theatre, movement, devising and performance under the direction of Al Seed, Alex Rigg and Ewan Downie. It was there that she began to focus on experimentation with her original compositions, singing and movement. Fionnuala is exploring ways of making her music physical and visual, and using movement to inspire sounds, songs and theatre. In 2015, she was awarded the Physical Fest and Merseyside Dance Initiative Bursary to develop her new work, You Kissed Me. With support from Arts Council England, she created the first site-responsive version in a vacant home in Liverpool, debuting at Physical Fest 2016. Renamed The Viewing, Fionnuala is currently working on a film and live music version as well as creating further site-responsive adaptations. Fionnuala works regularly with Walk The Plank as a pyrotechnician and performer, and is also Meryl the Maze Master in The Crystal Maze.
